Hello Parents, This week we celebrated Tu B’Shevat in the classroom. The kids were excited to make a cake for the trees! On Monday we baked a rainbow cake for the trees. We walked through the campus and said “Happy Birthday” to the trees and bushes. We spent the day talking about what we need for trees to grow- we need dirt, sun and water. Tu B’Shevat is an opportunity to appreciate nature and the environment. It is a holiday about rebirth and renewal. In Israel, Tu B’Shevat celebrates the beginning of the fruit crop. We allowed the kids during the week to explore dirt and soil in the classroom. We even found a worm inside! On Wednesday the kids planted beans in cups with soil. They will water them every few days, and hopefully we can watch them grow! It has been fun to watch the beans grow on the windowsill. Most have begun to have stems and leaves push out of the beans. Reminders: *DADITUDE is this Sunday at 9:15-10:45 on the Witzman Yard. *Class starts at 9:00, we want your children to experience all the fun activities and play during their day at school. *If your child is sick or feeling ‘off’, please keep them home. We need your help to stop the spread of germs in the classroom. If your child has a fever, they must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. *Fathers/Grandfathers week is February 22-February 26th. Invitations to follow. Thank you, Ashley & Gali
