During this past week we had a lot of sickness in the classroom, children as well as teachers and parents. Please remember if your child has any symptoms of illness please keep them home. We are trying very hard to keep everyone healthy. If you feel your child’s symptoms are from allergies we will need a note from their doctor.
This week was a week of discovery and exploration. The children were very busy creating an airport in the classroom. Each day they added materials or took them away. They used many different sizes and colors of blocks, large and small planes, and people to create their airport. To make the runway they used red tape and large flat blocks. The children had to use their imagination and both large and small muscle skills to build. To learn more about different types of planes and what they are used for we went to the school library and checked out some books on planes. This enabled the children to expand on their knowledge of planes as well as adding new vocabulary. The children also got to a chance to see some of the construction going on here at Wise. On Wednesday the children watched as a very, very large crane pick up other small machinery and carried it over the buildings. They were all so amazed at what was going on, that some even pretended be use their arms as cranes to picked up toys in the sandbox and around the yard. This was another great way the children were able to use their imagination and creativity as well as large muscle skills. Have a wonder holiday weekend and we will see you all on Wednesday! Shabbat Shalom, Courtney, Cindy and Ari
