This week in honor of Yom Kippur we learned more about the Shofar. Over the past couple of weeks we have heard the shofar in temple, outside in the yard and during our holiday celebrations. During one of our group times the children used their senses to explore many different types and sizes of Shofarot. Some were small and smooth and others were larger and rough. The children were able to use their new vocabulary to describe what the saw, felt, smelled and heard. We the used this information to help the children create their own Shofar from clay. We are looking forward to next week when we will be celebrating Sukkot and will get a chance to hear the Shofar again.
