Dear Parents,
What a wonderful and short week we have had at school! With Tu B’Shevat approaching next Monday, we have been discussing the different parts of a tree and doing art projects that relate to the topic of trees. The students have decorated the cups that they used to plant flax seeds in and watch them grow! We also have a few parsley plants in the room that have already grown a good amount, so the children have been observing this herb and we will be able to use it when Passover arrives. Another discussion that was had this week talked about similarities and differences. We have many varieties of leaves throughout our room and available to the children to touch and describe details that identify each type of leaf. The students have really begun to enjoy using grabbing tools, seen in the pictures, in order to pick up objects and place them somewhere else. If you have something like it at home, feel free to give it to your child with some small soft toys for them to pick up! We have also begun playing on the larger yard in front, adding more challenges with the more elaborate climbing structure to build up their strength and gross motor movements. Reminder: There is a daditude service with Rabbi Stern on January 31st at 9:15am-10:45am on the Witzman playground. Have a wonderful weekend and we will see everybody on Monday! Best wishes, Tatiana and Lashelle
