Yom Kippur and Friendships We are so excited for the children in room 12. Three weeks into the school year and they have learned 3 colors ; red (adom) green (yarok) and yellow(tzhov) , sizes small (katan), medium (benoni) and large (gadol) and songs about Shofar and apples dipped in honey…all in Hebrew. The children are feeling very comfortable in their classroom and we are working with them on taking responsibility for themselves. They throw away their own trash, set up their own bedding, clean up their own toys and are very capable. Our focus this week has been treating our friends with kindness in honor of Yom Kippur. At circle time, we sang songs of friendship and togetherness and danced in a large circle and with partners. We spoke of the different activities we like to do with our friends, and most agreed that they would like a play date with their classmates. Our Shaliach Roy came to visit our class and played with the children… all in Hebrew. Reminders Sunday, September 23, 4:30 PM-6:30 PM- Sukkot celebration for Wise School.
