Dear Ulpanon Aleph Parents,
We began our week talking about friendship and how we are all friends. This then led into a conversation about Yom Kippur. The children painted their hands and we made a friendship circle out of their hands on a paper that is hanging on our wall. We started talking about Sukkot, showing children some pictures of real sukkot. We sang the song “patish masemer” (hammer nail). The children made their own Sukkot on construction paper, using a picture of a Sukkah as an example. They took popsicle sticks to create their own Sukkah, complete with leaves and various fruit stickers. Next week we will visit one of the Sukkot on campus and eat snack there. The children enjoyed Music with Ditza where she sang songs about Sukkot and also a song about the body parts in Hebrew. Reminders: No school on Monday, October 14th in observance of Sukkot. Sunday, October 13th—Join us for the 2nd annual Sukkot Family picnic event from 4:30-6:30. Families join in the sanctuary for singing, a picnic and art projects around the Sukkah! Shabbat Shalom, Mira, Miri and Gali
