Dear Parents,
We hope that you had a wonderful week! We had a lot going on this week. We used our eyes to look inside pumpkins with magnifying glasses and identified different colors when painting our turkey picture frames, which are available inside the classroom if you want to look (we will send it home later on.) The weather this week changed very often, so we have been continuing reviewing the terminology for defining whether conditions and determining if jackets are needed. As you can see in the pictures, the children played with umbrellas and they had a blast! The carpet activities this week had a lot to do with building and puzzles. We are working on determining what is too high and what is safe for building structures from the wooden blocks. The puzzles that we did involved putting numbers in order and they have corresponding pictures of food. The students, with a little help, were very successful! We look forward to continuing to expose them to this material. Something that we did this week regarding fine motor skills was stretching rubber bands to make shapes on a board. This required a lot of strength in their thumbs and index fingers, building the muscles for writing! We were lucky to have Rabbi Josh come to the amphitheater on Thursday and meet with all of the discoverers to talk about thanksgiving! At Wise, we focus on the values of thanksgiving and how we can help others in our community. Having the rabbi come speak with us was truly a blessing, and the children absolutely love hearing him tell stories! Carter was the Shabbat boy this week and it was a pleasure to have him and Natalie come to tell the class some stories and see that big smile up on the bima. Reminder: There is no school on Monday the 16th and school will resume on Tuesday the 17th for regular hours. Have a wonderful weekend! Best, Tatiana and Lashelle
