Dear Parents,
Wow we have had quite the week in room 12! With Hanukkah upon us, we have be filling our days with Hanukkah related art projects, felt stories and songs. We have been working on recalling the story of Hanukkah by telling it every day with all of the other discoverers classrooms. We have also been working on fine motor movements regarding the Hanukkah art projects. Most of them entail using smaller brushes and other tools to create their artwork, which you will be receiving very soon! As we have been singing the days of the week every day, Lashelle and I notice that more and more of the children can now sing at least part of the days of the week! This shows real progress with their memory. Every day we see who is at school and spell their name, and this has gotten students to being spelling not only their but their classmates names as well! With the amount of progress that we have seen, we cannot wait until the end of the year when the children will hopefully be able to spell all of their friends’ names! On Wednesday we had our Hanukkah party and we are so grateful for the food that was brought and the wonderful times that we had telling the story in the amphitheater and eating as a group in our room! Noah was Shabbat boy this week, and it was a very special Shabbat service with the Rabbi and Ditza telling the story of Hanukkah. Reminders: Next week we will have a different theme for every day. Monday is pajama day, Tuesday is mix and match day, Wednesday is Wacky day, Thursday is sharing day (the students bring in one item to share with the class), and Friday the students come dressed in blue. This is also posted above the sign in sheet in front of the classroom. We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and a great last few nights of Hanukkah! We look forward to seeing everybody next week! Best, Tatiana and Lashelle
