Newsletter November 31-December 4
Hello Parents! The beginning of December means new beginnings for our class. We have begun introducing Hanukkah! The kids are learning not only the story, but we are focusing on what the shamash’s role is and how many nights are in Hanukkah. We have also been focusing more on counting and threading, working on fine motor skills and pre-writing. Along with working on these fine motor skills, we have been working on gross, or large, motor movements using large paint brushes and other mediums to paint on large pieces of paper. This works their shoulder muscles and with this strength comes safer play on the yards. We have done lots of Hanukkah projects so feel free to come in the room and take a look around at your child’s artwork. We look forward to you seeing the beautiful Hanukkiyot that they made. Also, for the last week before break, we will have daily themes for the kids! On Monday the 14th, it is pajama day; on Tuesday the 15th we will have mismatching day (shoes? Socks?); Wednesday the 16th is Wacky day in our classroom, which can be interpreted in many different ways J Thursday the 17th will be share day; students can bring in one item to share with the class. Finally, Friday the 18th will be “Dress in Blue” Day! We look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with! Reminders: We will be starting tricycle express when we return from winter break on January 4th, so if you would like your child to participate please make sure to bring a helmet. Our Hanukkah party is on Wednesday December 9th. Parents are welcome to join us for this celebration! You will soon be receiving an email with a list of what everybody is bringing. Our Hanukkah Tot Shabbat is on Friday evening, December 11 at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a Shabbat service with Rabbi Josh and Ditza, along with a community candle lighting, a traditional Hanukkah dinner and tremendous fun afterwards with the Beat Buds. Visit www.mycart.wisela.org to pay for the evening. Adults: $24.00; Children 3 and up, $12.00. Shabbat Shalom! Tatiana and Lashelle
