This week the children were busy preparing for Passover. In the art center the children have been painting pyramids and working with different types of art materials such as glue and sand to create our main Passover bulliten board. This allows the children to experience working with different textures. Glueing is also the beginning of sequencing because the process itself requires two steps; glueing then placing the object on a surface. We have also added a new Passover themed center in our room , the sand table. At the ceneter you can find desert creatures hiding uder the sand and even fake cacti. When the children play at the sand table they learn to create patterns and symbols in the sand that help them when they begin to read and write. The children have been practicing the Passover story every day at circle time with our next doors neighbors in Room 22 so we can be prepaired for our upcoming seder in the classroom. We cant wait for all the Families to join us for this fun celebration!
