Welcome back! What an incredible week we've had. It was delightful seeing all our friends (and their mommies). The children easily got back into their routine and were so happy to be back at school. Our friends in Room 24 have grown and we have noticed they have become wonderful independent little people. They are playing together in the sandbox, in the classroom, as a group, and working things out on their own, with less teacher involvement. They are working hard at making good choices and being good friends to each other. It's amazing to watch!
So many wonderful things coming up: On Monday, we will celebrate Earth Day on the Witzman playground. You are welcome to join us. On Wednesday, we will celebrate Yom Haatzmaut, Israel's 67th birthday, by making a birthday cake, with our friends from next door. Of course, we will sing "Happy Birthday" in Hebrew and in English. We will also be making Israeli flags which we will bring to our Shabbat, Yom Haatzmaut service on Friday. On Friday, in honor of Israel's birthday, please wear blue and white to school. We began talking Israel's birthday this week by reading books, looking at the Israeli flag and talking about the fact that everyone has a birthday, mommy, daddy and even Israel. They thought 67 was old. We asked our friends, "how old do you think your mommy is?" Most thought two and a half, three, and five years old! It was really a very cute moment. One friend shared that her daddy was"old, old." Happy 3rd Birthday to Asher and Rosie. Thank you for the birthday/Shabbat celebration, and for the delicious healthy snacks this week. Shabbat Shalom to all! Warmly, Judy and Sue
