This week we talked about the holiday of Shavuot, which celebrates the gift of the Torah to the Jewish people. We explained to the children that in the Torah there are rules about how to treat our family and friends. We read the book,"No Rules for Michael", by Sylvia Rouss. The book describes what it would be like if there were no rules. We asked our friends in Room 24 what are the rules in school? "You can't punch, no hitting, don't throw sand, be kind, you can't push your friend." We then took a walk to Temple, and all the children had the opportunity to hold the Torah. They were in awe when we opened the Ark and removed the Torah. Chag Shavuot Sameach!
Remember way back in September when we had mommy chairs in our classroom? As the end of the year approaches, take a moment to reflect on how much your children have grown. Shabbat Shalom! Hope you have a nice Memorial Day/Shavuot weekend. Judy and Sue REMINDER Join us for the end of the year EC Tot Shabbat! May 29| 5:30 p.m. (Hershenson Hall) Click here to register!
