Dear Families,
Every day we see such growth and camaraderie among your children. Their growth shows not only in their expanding language skills, & social skills, such empathy and awareness of each other, but also in their ability to focus and concentrate for longer and longer periods of time. It is an absolute wonder to witness. We begin each week with Music with Teacher Brock; and this group loves music! So much so we like to have a "dance party" in class after circle time! We worked on matching pictures, colors, sizes with puzzles, match game cards and letters. It's always exciting and working with tools to learn new skills to explore. We also experienced lots of sensory play; from painting with our hands, play dough, sand, gak, cooking...etc. All these tactile explorations are not just visually, obviously enticing for a child, but they also help them with regulating their behaviors. They begin to understand ideas such as "smooth", "slimy", "rough", "cold" and "hot" just to name some basic concepts. Some Reminders for next week: Daditude is this Sunday, November 22nd from 9:15 – 10:45 a.m. Dads can enjoy the morning networking and chatting with each other while your children play on the Witzman Yard. Monday, November 23, 2015 Is our class's Thanksgiving Feast. This feast is just for our friends. We've been talking a great deal about Gratitude and Thankfulness...ask them what they are thankful for, you'll be amazed at what they have to say. Wednesday, November 25th is a Pupil Free Day. The EC teaching staff will be training further with our Occupational Therapist, Lindsay Astor Grant. The days will be cooling down next week, so please remember to check your cubbies for extra clothes, diapers and more! Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom, Teachers Elizabeth & Marloes
