Dear Parents,
We have had a very busy and fun filled week! It started off with a beautiful Havdalah service with all of Explorers, where we also got to listen to a story about Lag B’Omer, which is the 33rd day of the counting of Omer (the days between the 2nd night of Passover and Shavuot). This is about a day of celebration, which we got to celebrate on Thursday with all our Explorer friends. Rabbi Sari joined us in the backyard, where she told us more about Lag B’Omer and we got to sing and dance together. Throughout this week, your children have been hard at work with various art activities. They worked on drawing new self- portraits (which you can see the comparison of the first one they did months ago and then this week on our wall). By looking in the mirror at their faces and deciding what colors they wanted to use, which body parts they needed to draw, and which order they wanted to do so in. We also explored again with new and different loose materials. They got to pick what they wanted to draw, drew it out on the paper and then used the materials of their choice to create their very own masterpiece. Once they completed that, they told us what they drew and what information they wanted to share about their design. Be sure to check out their hard work on our walls! Our last project we worked on was using a string to create a design, squeezing out paint from bottles (using appropriate muscle strength to squeeze the right amount) and then pulled the string off the canvas, creating a beautiful design. Thank you to Lucas and his family for celebrating Shabbat with us. We wish you all a wonderful, long weekend, and Shabbat Shalom! REMINDERS: -Monday, May 27th- NO SCHOOL -June 5th- Last day of school
