This week we have continued to explore Rosh Hashanah and investigate the different symbols that represent the holiday, from apples to honey to shofar and pomegranate.
To continue our studies in art, the children moved on from drawing still life apples to painting them by choosing which size and color they preferred. We also introduced the math concept of patterns. It is a pleasure to see the children's enthusiasm in trying to make different patterns. They even tried to do so with the apples we introduced. By showing the children the different varieties of apples, they were able to identify that apples can have different shapes , sizes and colors, and that they can both sort and pattern with them. One child did small medium and big, while others did red, green, red, green. We have started going to yoga class and it has been an amazing experience to watch how interactive the children were with teacher Cheryl. The children are benefiting from learning to calm their bodies and listening to their emotions to then be able to follow the expectations of their day. We made sensory bottles as a group and discussed all the feelings that we might be feeling in our heart. Someone even asked if the jar was like their heart where they keep their feelings. The bottles are available to the children to use whenever they need. Please ask them about the feeling bottles to find out all the feelings we put inside. Thank you for a wonderful week. Shabbat shalom.
