Even though we did not get to play outside this week, the children enjoyed all the fun indoor time we experienced! We started the week by having Music with Andrew. His energy and fun songs keep the children engaged. Each child gets to play with egg shakers, colorful scarves and so much more. Inside the classroom we discussed more about winter, cold, and rain discussions. We talked about umbrellas keeping us dry, and “when the sun comes out, it dries the rain” mentioned Asher. On Thursday, while it was raining hard, we opened the big doors and let the children marvel in the heavy rain- we talked about how you can see the rain on the roof, see the rain hit the puddles, and smell the rain and the trees. It is so important to allow children to experience rain. If your child has rain boots and a rain jacket- please allow them to wear it to class next week when it rains; we can go on short walks and let them touch and feel the rain and jump in puddles. On Thursday, we had a snowball extravaganza. A fun manipulative we have in class is a box of soft “snowballs”. The children tossed them in baskets, threw them up in the air, and tried to catch them all around the room. It was fun to play with “snow” without being cold! Each day we brought the children outside the covered patio, between our building and the pool. The covered space was long enough to ride bikes, run, color with chalk and explore tunnels. It was great to be able to go outside! Thank you to our Shabbat Family- it was wonderful to have Oree and his family join us in the classroom and the temple. Reminders:
