Dear Parents, This week began with Music with Andrew in the school Sukkah on the Pre-K yard. On the walk, we took in all the sights and sounds. We sat around on the grass in the Sukkah and shook the egg shakers, played with rainbow streamers, and tapped wooden blocks while singing some Sukkot songs, including, “This is What You Need to Build a Sukkah.” We had the honor of having Rabbi Josh come visit us in the Sukkah as well, and he brought with him a lulav and Etrog. The children had the opportunity to smell the Etrog and shake the lulav and Etrog together. We have continued working on our routine, from cleaning up the room, sitting on chairs on the carpet for circle time, lining up to wash hands before snack/lunch, and sitting while we eat. The children have loved listening to the flannel board stories, especially the ones that they can participate in (placing an animal or piece on the board themselves when that specific item is called), and we introduced large books to our circle, which are a little easier to see. We had various manipulatives out, a card game that the children had to find the two matching cards, the peg boards where they could stack various colored stacks, which they thoroughly enjoyed pretending they were making birthday cakes, and the magnetiles and garages on the carpet. Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom and a restful weekend, Debbie, Erika and Gali Reminders: As the weather starts to change, please make sure to check your child’s box that they have the proper clothing.
