Hello all,
Our first full week of school was fantastic! This week in our classroom we worked with colors. Our first step was to paint with only primary colors. This week we mixed primary colors to create secondary colors. We had conversations about what we thought would happen when, for example, we mixed red and yellow, and discovered as a group what actually happened. Some of our friends wanted to mix paints using paintbrushes and rollers, while others wanted to use their hands and spread the paint across the paper. As we paint and do different activities through the day, we encourage exploration and critical thinking while developing the skills to vocalize learning. While children paint, they develop their imagination and creativity, strengthen their hand-eye coordination, and express their feelings and ideas. We also used primary and secondary colored blocks to build. We like to use different formats for children to explore and interact with colors. Some friends like making big tall buildings, knocking them down, and starting all over again. We enjoyed Shabbat services on Friday. The children are learning the blessings and are starting to put their fists together to sing "Bim Bam." They even get excited about seeing the Torah in the ark. Reminders: - No school on this Monday, the 15th, for Professional Development. - Beit Issie Farmers Market will be next Friday. Stay tuned for our class' assigned donation! Have a great weekend and Shabbat Shalom! Julia and Marcela
