After our Thanksgiving Feast, we had two huge pumpkins sitting on the table. One day, Ethan asked, “What’s inside”. So we all sat down and talked about what might be inside the pumpkin. We received a variety of answers: chicken, pizza, a dinosaur, and seeds. One day we sat with all the children around the table and watched Teacher Ashley cut into the big pumpkin, and guess what was inside… Seeds! The children used spoons, forks and their hands to explore the inside of the pumpkin. We used great descriptive words such as sticky, cold, stingy, and orange. After the children were finished exploring the seeds, Ethan asked, “Do the seeds grow?”. What a great question. The next day we filled the pumpkin with soil/dirt. Every child was given the opportunity to put spoonsfuls of soil into the pumpkin. We are excited to water the soil every day, and see if the pumpkin seeds grow! Reminders: *Our class Hanukkah Party is Tuesday, December 13thfrom 9-10 am. * Our last day of class is Friday, December 16th. We will resume after winter break on January 3rd.
