Dear Parents,
This week, we continue to explore the Spring season and all it brings! Your children worked on their fine motor and creativity skills using different mediums to draw and create their own interpretation of a flower. We placed two different flowers, a real and a fake one on a table, and your children were encouraged to draw their own interpretation of what they saw. This revolves around the concept of still art. They really took their time and we noticed that many of them wanted help and to practice making the pedals before drawing them on their final product. The following day, we expanded their art project, where the children used water colors to paint a flower. With much encouragement, they worked efficiently with how they executed their thoughts and ideas. Stayed tuned for the final step! Our group discussions revolved around Yom Ha’atzmaut. We talked about the different types of things we can experience when we travel to Israel. Rabbi Josh and Rabbi Sari, along with all of our friends in Explorers, told an engaging and exciting story about how Israel was born. We got to strap our seatbelts on, follow flight safety rules and go back in time 70 years ago. We traveled to Israel through Wise School Airlines and had a wonderful experience. Please be sure to ask your children all about the story and our amazing time spent doing an archeological dig, writing letters to place in the Wailing Wall, painting with mud from the Dead Sea and juicing our own oranges and lemons to make yummy juice. Thank you to everyone who sent in food to make our celebration successful. We truly appreciate your support. Thank you to Evie and her family for joining us on Shabbat and celebrating the day with us. Shabbat Shalom!
