Dear Parents, This week was quite a fun filled and busy one! We celebrated Simchat Torah by bringing our flags to Temple, listening to the Rabbi’s and Cantor’s sing and tell stories and we marched around the entire Temple. During this service, your children had the opportunity to listen to Cantor Emma read a part from both the ending of the Torah and then the beginning. They explained that we are starting the cycle of reading the Torah from the beginning again. We also had the opportunity to go back to the Temple to visit with Rabbi Sari where she had the Torah opened for your children. Everyone had the chance to go up close to the Torah, using the “Yad” to point to the words written inside the Torah while Rabbi Sari explained what part of the Torah they were reading from. She also sang some songs with us and we had such a fun time! To top off our Simchat Torah celebration, we baked a Torah cake. Your children gathered around the table, each one patiently waiting to get a turn to pour in some ingredients and mix it up in the bowl. Once it was done baking, they got to pick a frosting and decorate their cake with either chocolate or vanilla icing and then put some sprinkles on top. We continued to talk about Fall, the way the colors of the leaves change and different types of pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn. Thank you those who have sent in some pumpkins and other materials that are found in nature. Your children have enjoyed exploring and look closely at the different items. On Friday, we had another beautiful Shabbat service. We hope that you all have a wonderful weekend! Shabbat Shalom!
