Dear Parents,
We hope you all had a meaningful Yom Kippur. As we continue to explore our holiday-filled month, we have introduced our unit on Sukkot. We discussed how to build a Sukkah and what we do in it. It needs 3 walls and a roof made with branches and that the stars need to be seen in between the branches. The children will be able to visit our own Sukkah here at school next week, and we encourage you to visit one of our beautiful sukkot as well. Sukkot is a joyous holiday when we eat and spend time in the Sukkah for eight days. We will continue introducing the symbols of Sukkot as we come back to school next week. We have been working on fine motor skills by working with scissors, crayons and marbles. We continue to practice spelling our first names. Please continue spelling your children’s first names out loud. We are still learning patterns using different loose materials. Putting puzzles together provide many skills and learning opportunities for children. It helps to enhance their fine motor skills, hand and eye coordination, problem solving skills and self-esteem to name a few. We will continue to provide these learning opportunities to our children throughout the year. Please remember that there is no school on Monday October 14. Join us on Sunday October 13 for a family Sukkot picnic from 4:30 to 6:30 in the sanctuary and Katz family pavilion. Shabbat shalom
