We hope you had a nice long weekend.
The staff was here at school on Tuesday, and we did emergency drills all day. It was a very productive day for the staff. As we welcomed the children back to class on Wednesday, it was clear that they were happy to be back. We jumped right into our week and worked some more on our volcano unit. We are now learning about the inside of the earth, the Core, and we are making a model earth that the children are painting. We are discussing what is inside the earth and the children came up with lots of answers; there is hot lava, rocks, melted rocks, sand, fire. We also discussed how hot it really is in the inside of the earth and we had each child estimate how hot they think it is; we had numbers from 7 to 1000 degrees when in fact it is more than 10,000 degrees. The children were surprised by such a big number. We are all excited to continue our exploration on volcanoes and our planet earth. Have a great weekend and Shabbat shalom! Reminders: Friday, February 28th – Generation Day shabbat @10:45
