We hope you all had a nice long weekend! We came back from a 3-day weekend ready to learn and explore. We were honored to be invited by the Elementary School to join them at their Patriotic Assembly. The Elementary school students were all dressed in red, white and blue for President’s Day. Before we left we talked as a class more about the presidents. We were amazed by how much they knew and remembered. At the assembly we sang American songs and listened to the band play amazing music. The kids recognized some of the instruments from what they have seen and learned about in the music lab. The music was so entertaining and relaxing at the same time that some of our kids in room 9 fell asleep! ;-)
We continued learning and talking about Purim. We have been reading books and talking about the story of Purim. We discussed all the characters in the story and their important roles. We cannot wait to make hamantaschen as a class. They know they are a triangular shapes and to represent the shape of Haman’s hat. More importantly we cannot wait to taste them. We also made groggers! The sound they make is spectacular! Reminders: We do not have a Shabbat helper for February 20th. If you would like to be the Shabbat helper, please let us know!
