This week has been so nice seeing the faces of the Fathers and Grandfathers in Room 9! We are so lucky that we had so many visitors come see our morning routine, join us for music and especially PE! The kids sat down independently with a teacher to draw a portrait of their father. They took each step seriously and answered questions about their dad. The details involved the shape of their face, eye and hair color, but most importantly how they feel and care about their dad.
The kids loved walking in the room one morning and seeing boxes on the carpet. They quickly started investigating and deciding what they could do with it. We put some paint down and they had a blast covering all the boxes. The next day when they had dried, they took tape, cardboard, cups, and different supplies they found around the room and put the boxes together to make a castle for the town of Shushon from the story of Purim. They took out some of the toys we have around the room and used them as the characters from the story of Purim. Purim is right around the corner. It was fun watching their reactions as they walked into the room to see the front wall transformed into a holiday that has so much joy and excitement attached to it. They listened intently to the story of Purim. We will dig deeper into the characters and their character traits in the days to come.
