What an incredibly busy week we have had in room 9. We continued discussing the holiday of Rosh Hashanah. The children completed their first Pre-K journal page! We put out different artifacts for this holiday such as shofarot, honey and a variety of apples. The children drew a representation of Rosh Hashanah. They then came up to the teacher and expressed in words everything they learned about this wonderful holiday. We had a visit from Rabbi Spike and Melanie who is an expert shofar blower. The kids were astonished at the sound that came from the shofar! We were excited to start our first week in the Music Lab. The children loved sitting at the listening bar and learning about the Brass Section. They then each went to their own computer to get a taste of the music program we will be using throughout the year. To end an amazing trip to the lab, they sat at a personal drum and were able to follow the music teacher’s beat. They had such fun! The children brought home their first homework assignment about connections and couldn’t be more excited about it. Throughout the week we have been going over each one and can’t believe the remarkable connections they were able to make on their own.
