What a wonderful first week in Room 9! After much anticipation, we welcomed our new families. It was so great to see each child come in with a big smile and an open heart.
Each day we are getting to know each other, learning all about the rules and routines of the classroom. We were also discussing beginnings while focusing on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. In addition, we have been learning all about bees and how they make honey. The children found it a very fascinating subject. This will culminate with a visit next week from the "Bee Lady"! The children also baked a delicious "Apple Yum Cake" filled with fresh apples and using simple ingredients. Just perfect for the New Year! We will have the recipe available if you would like to make it at home. On Friday, we got to meet our coach Danny and had a exhilarating PE lesson.
