This week we continued the topic of Purim. The children of room 3 have been very interested in the holiday. We discussed the characteristics of the characters in the story. The children gave us details about each character we showed them. For example, Haman is in a "nightgown" that is brown and black. One of our children connected that since he is the bad guy of the story, he is wearing not happy colors. Another child was very concerned about Queen Vashti, wondering if she ever found another boyfriend. The children love to make noise when they hear Haman's name throughout the day. Rabbi Josh visited our classroom and entertained the kids of room 1 and 3 with his own Purim story. He dressed in different hats and the kids had a blast.
The children in room 3 had a fantastic time in PE this week. They learned a new game that involves kicking and aiming soccer balls. They worked as a team and raced to knock all the soccer balls off the cones. Every time we mention working as a team, they bring up how when you work as a team, you work faster. This was something we discussed during our hot wheels unit. Everyone has been very interested in building robots in the room. We placed a math game that had blocks that connect. Our class used those blocks to create their own robots instead of doing the math game. We were very proud of them for being creative. Reminders: Next week we look forward to celebrating Shabbat with Harper and her family. Please remember a Hallah for the class. Your children may come in costume for the whole day of school on Friday the 10th in honor of Purim. Tuesday the 14th is half day- noon dismissal. Wednesday the 15th there is no school.- Conferences Please make sure you sign up for conferences! 3/10 Beit Issie Farmer's Market, Final market of the year! 3/12 Purim Carnival
