Room 3 had special visitors in the classroom! The fifth graders joined our students as ‘buddies’ for an exciting morning with one another. The children created art projects, read stories, made puzzles, and conversed with each other. This was a wonderful experience for the class and it was great to see the connections between the age groups. We are looking forward to having the fifth grade buddies visit again soon.
The children did an outstanding job on their Tu B’Shevat journal entries. Their detailed drawings and use of words provided the information they needed in order to complete this task. The class is able to classify the different trees, and distinguish between the different parts of the trees. The children can identify the roots, trunk, branches, stems, and leaves. We discussed what grows on trees, the benefits of trees, and how trees grow. For example: trees provide oxygen, fruit, and shade. We had such a fun and yummy Tu B’Shevat celebration with all of the Pre-K classes. Each class provided different kinds of fresh and dried fruits. We all discussed the significance of this holiday, sang songs, and said the prayers together. The children chose the fruits they wanted to eat and sat together under the trees. It was a beautiful experience for all of the children. Chag Sameach and Shabbat Shalom! Reminders: Special snack mom for February 9: Firoozeh Bakshian Library mom for February 10: Rebecca Cohen
