What an eventful week we had in room 3! Since there was no school on Monday, we celebrated President’s Day with the elementary school for a wonderful ceremony in the synagogue. We sang songs about America, listened to famous quotes written by historical figures, and enjoyed a patriotic concert by Maestro Kates, Brock, Rabbi Yoshi and more.
We made our way to the elementary school science lab where the children learned all about teeth. The class was able to touch models of the inside of the mouth, including fossils from different animals. They learned about the different functions that their teeth have. The children are aware that their front teeth (canines) are for tearing food, and their back teeth (molars) are for grinding food. It was an educational science experiment for the class. For Purim, each child chose a character of their choice to create on a cutout from head to toe. The children used their fine motor skills to draw, cut and glue detailed pictures of Haman, Uncle Mordechai, King Achashverosh, and Vashti. This was not only a learning experience about each one of the characters from the story, but a creative art project for the children as well. We are looking forward to another productive week ahead. Have a great weekend and Shabbat Shalom! With love, Karen and Vera Reminders: February 23-27: Father’s and Grandfather’s week Snack mom for week of February 23: Golareh R.
