Room 3 had special parent visits this week! A huge thank you to Golareh Ramin for making hamentashen with the children. This was a great hands-on experience and a fun cooking lesson for the class. Each child used their fine motor skills to scoop a small scoop of jelly and place it in the center of the dough. Then, they “pinched” the circled dough into threes to create a triangle. The children made the connection between Haman’s hat and the hamaneteshen by stating that they are both in the shape of a triangle.
It was a privilege to have Golareh Ramin and Myra Aron read books to the children at the library this week. We would like to thank both of them for coming and for sharing this experience with us. The children really enjoyed listening to all of the stories. Thank you so much, Kathie Arastoozadeh, for giving us fresh lemons from your lemon tree! We made yummy lemonade with the children by giving each child the opportunity to squeeze the lemons and mix in the sugar and water. The children learned about the difference between sweet and sour, and why adding sugar makes the lemonade less sour by balancing out the taste. The class was so excited to drink their lemonade while eating their snack. The children completed their Purim journal entry by providing details about the characters and the story. Each child drew their interpretation of the Purim holiday and provided their words about the story for their entry. We are so proud of their dedication towards their work in the classroom. Happy Purim and Shabbat Shalom! With love, Karen and Vera Reminders: Snack mom for week of March 9th: Keili
