Welcome back room 3, we hope you had a wonderful Passover!
Yom Ha’atzmaut is right around the corner and the children are excited to celebrate Israel’s 67th birthday with the entire pre-k class. Each child will receive fake ‘shekels’ (Israeli money). They will have the opportunity to buy Israeli foods and eat them with their friends. The purpose of this event is for the children to experience what it is like to be at a ‘shook’ (open market) in Israel. The stations will consist of pickles, olives, hummus, pita, lemonade, Israeli salad, and watermelon. There will also be a station for the ‘Kotel’ (Wailing Wall) where the children can place notes containing prayers to G-d, wishes, blessings, etc. Each child made a card for Israel’s 67th birthday. The children used their fine motor skills to create their own drawing of what their wish is for the holy land. They wrote words such as: love, peace, happiness, strength, and friendship. This was a beautiful project and the children came up with such great ideas. The children have started to work on writing their last names. We are so proud of the progress they have made thus far, and it is a joy to have each and every one of your children in our classroom. Have a great weekend and Shabbat Shalom! Reminders: Snack mom for week of April 20: Golareh R Shabbat boy for Friday, April 24: Aaron C
