Hello Room 3!
Thank you so much, Rebecca Cohen, for bringing ducklings into the classroom. The children were so excited to hold them and they were fascinated by the observations they had made about the ducklings. We talked about ducklings being a type of a bird. The children noticed their soft yellow fur, their webbed feet, big eyes, and the chirping sounds they were making. Earth day was so much fun! Thank you to the moms that came to celebrate with us. The children were able to experience some outdoor yoga with their friends. There were stations which consisted of smoothies and juices, and another area for the children to plant using mini pots and soil. We discussed the ways in which we can help the earth. We talked about vocabulary words such as, ‘pollution,” and ‘environment.’ The children contributed to conversations about this significant day by raising important questions and coming up with excellent ideas. 'Israel' has been the main topic in our classroom this week. With the holiday spirit of Yom Ha'atzmaut, each child created their own Israeli flag. They used their fine motor skills to cut out two long strips for the top and bottom, and two triangles to create the Jewish star that goes in the center of the flag. The children love talking about Israel and enjoy listening to stories about Jerusalem and the Jewish people. The children are focused on learning how to write their last names. They are motivated to write and recognize the letters of the alphabet. The children are also learning about geometrical shapes such as squares and rectangles; and they can recognize the differences between shapes such as circles and ovals. We are so proud of their work in the classroom, and we are looking forward to another great week ahead. Shabbat Shalom and have a wonderful weekend! With love, Karen and Vera Reminders: Snack mom for the week of April 27: Monika Amini Library mom for Tuesday, April 28: Sharzhad Ghodshian Shabbat girl for Friday, May 1: Chloe Cohen
