Thank you to all of the incredible mothers and grandmothers who visited the classroom this week. We had a great time with you all in the science lab, music innovation lab, and in the Synagogue celebrating Shabbat. The children were overjoyed to have you by their sides, for it has been a memorable and special week for us all.
In the science lab, the children learned about silk worms, and how these insects produce silk. The children were able to use a magnified glass to look at the tiny caterpillars and observe the way they eat mulberry leaves. Towards the end of the science lesson, the children had the opportunity to witness hamsters and rodents roll around in a clear plastic ball. On our way out, each child was able to blow their own bubbles while learning about the solution necessary to create soap bubbles. In the music innovation lab, the children learned about a variety of instruments. They were able to identify the similarities and differences between the instruments, and the sounds they make as well. It was fun to sing and dance to the 'Hokey Pokey' with all of the moms. We introduced the holiday, ‘Shavuot,’ to the class. The children understand the significance of this holiday, and that Shavuot commemorates the anniversary of the day God gave the Torah to the entire nation of Israel gathered at Mount Sinai. We are excited to make flower headbands with the class to represent this beautiful holiday. Have a wonderful weekend and Shabbat Shalom!
