November is here and so is the chill!
This has been quite a busy week. We started off by talking about Thanksgiving. We each said what we were thankful for and the children had some really beautiful things to share. We have different kinds of pumpkins in the classroom and we were able to compare and contrast them. Some were big and smooth, and some were small and bumpy. We wondered why they were different on the outside and discussed that although they look different, they were relatively the same on the inside. We mentioned that we also look different from one another, yet we are all human beings. We cut open the big pumpkin and saw that inside there were many seeds and they felt 'gooey" when we took them out. We washed the seeds and roasted them with salt and we cooked the pumpkin with honey. We tasted them and noticed that one was sweet and the other was salty. We introduced our senses and talked about the sense of taste which let us know the different tastes. On Thursday we had so much fun baking pumpkin cookies which were delicious!!! Shabbat Shalom, Anne and Vera Reminder: -Order deadline for Square Art is November 9.
