Although it has been a short week in room 3, it has been a busy one as well. After reviewing the detailed story of thanksgiving, the children were able to provide a great amount of information for their journals. Students have been linking patterns with Native American arts and crafts. For example, the children made headbands (which are what the Native Americans wore) and decorated them with their own patterns out of different shapes and colors. The children have also made their own necklaces using wooden beads and thanksgiving colors to represent their patterns. As well as working on making connections and creating patterns, the children have been improving their fine motor skills by beading, gluing, aligning, and snipping. We had a delicious Thanksgiving Feast with all of our Pre-K friends. The children experienced what it’s like to have a meal full of yummy food that we eat on Thanksgiving. There were stations with bracelet making, feather gluing, and turkey games. We are thankful for each and every one of your loving children. May the blessings of this Thanksgiving fill your heart and home with happiness! Have a great weekend. Vera and Karen The Holiday Boutique is just around the corner!!
