Room 3 had a great start to the week with our first science class. We walked to the science lab and learned from one of the amazing elementary school science teachers. The children watched a video about force and then they participated in their own experience. They took a string and figured out the correct strength that would knock a cup over without hitting the paper behind it. We continued our holiday topic of Passover. We have begun to learn songs like "dig, dig", "Dayenu" and the four questions. In the music lab we practiced the songs with Maestro. The children worked on their Afikoman holder. Each child decorated their felt with designs of their choice. Some chose to draw their family and some chose to draw Jewish stars or flowers. With all the construction going on on campus, the children have taken it upon themselves to build their own creations with the blocks. They are creating ideas for how the new building should look. They also use the magnet tiles to make separate rooms in the building and they then name each room. During PE, Coach Herold worked with the children on hitting volleyballs. They bounced the ball and "bumped" it. They tried to "bump" the ball as many times as possible without dropping it. Each one of them had a great time practicing their skills.
