Wow, what an eventful week here in Room 9! The dads and grandpas were the focus of the week, culminating with the fathers and grandfather’s brunch with the Rabbi on Friday. The children enjoyed showing off their room, especially their amazing portraits of their dads that they completed this week. We especially loved hearing why they “love their dad!”
We also celebrated Tu B’Shevat this week, the birthday of the trees. We had an amazing Tu B’Shevat Seder on Thursday where all the children of Pre-K experienced and tasted both fresh and dried fruits and shared how appreciative we are of the trees that gave us these delicious fruits. The children ate dates, mango, apples, bananas, prunes, apricots and many others. We also had the opportunity to plant some seeds outside our classroom for Tu B’Shevat. We had a discussion about what we will need for these seeds to grow. We heard the children all shout out, “We need lots of sun!” “We need to water it daily!” “It needs to be buried in lots of soil!” “I can’t wait to watch it grow up tall like me!” It was a beautiful day and we were surrounded by gorgeous trees.
