We want to say how nice it was to sit down with all of you this week for conferences. It was gratifying and rewarding to talk about the children’s growth from the beginning of the year conferences to now. We had a wonderful time seeing each of you and talking about all the milestones that have been met. We are lucky to have you all in our rooms and to watch your children grow. Thank you for taking the time to meet with us.
We learn more and more each week with our construction near our backyard. When we are on the yard, the children are easily drawn to look upward at the men hanging from the beams. This brought us to look at a book we recently got from the Scholastic order on construction. We have a new set of books that look deeper into the construction items used. We read about cranes and what each part is called. We loved hearing the children yell out that they saw a boom (the long metal arm of the crane). How cool is it that we get to experience this first-hand? We were part of signing our names on one of the beams. This was the last beam that was placed for our new gym. We have many discussions about how when the children get older, they will be able to play in this gym and talk about everything they learned the year it was being built. Not only do we have a huge crane in our backyard that we get to watch in action daily, but next week we will have an excavator that we can research about as well. The special holiday of Passover will soon be here. As we explore and discuss this holiday, feel free to bring in any books or artifacts to help us learn and celebrate. When the children walked in on Thursday after being away for a day and a half, they were amazed by the front wall. They have become aware every time we change it and start asking questions right away. “Is this a new holiday?” “This holiday starts with a P just like the last holiday.” “I know the frog song!” Consider spending your summer with Camp Wise!
