Room 14 has had a busy week at school. We continue to focus on drawing shapes and now, we have incorporated faces this week!
We started talking about Martin Luther King, Jr. and read two stories. One of the stories was called Happy Birthday Martin Luther King by Jean Marzollo and the other story was, Martin Luther King Jr. Day , by David F Marx. We really tried to explain the importance of love and friendship and what Martin Luther King Jr. did for everyone around him. Wednesday we visited the library and it was a great chance for the children to grab a book sit on the carpet and do some “reading.” Hearing the stories they made up were truly amazing. Thursday we made faces using clay. The children are really learning to put detail into their work. Some of the children even put eyelashes in their representations, which was really impressive. We also made friendship pancakes and each child made a pancake topped with fruit for a friend in the class. We ended our week with a beautiful Shabbat. We hope you all have a relaxing weekend. Shabbat Shalom, Brenda & Erika Reminders No school Monday January 18th or Tuesday January 19th January 22nd -Shabbat Girl is Paige January 26th – Julian is library boy!
