The children have been working on different activities this week that help with fine motor development. We explored watercolors, tape and scissors to name a few. Many of the children created an assortment of fun and creative designs. Arianna said, “Teacher Erika, I made a tie.” The use of scissors requires and enhances many developmental tasks such as enhancing the use of eye-hand coordination and allowing the children to build up their muscles in the palm of their hands. The children also enjoyed using watercolors, they were able to express themselves through their artwork by making beautiful creations. This week we continue exploring Passover through music and stories. We introduced a wild range of Passover books. The one that stood out was The Littlest Frog. The children were able to grasp the story. Alongside the book, we placed building blocks out for the children to explore and possibly build Egypt. We also had little frogs around, so that the children could integrate the materials (blocks and frogs) to create a more dynamic scene. The children are truly enjoying the story and becoming more familiar with the characters. We ended the week with a beautiful Shabbat. Next week we will continue with Passover discussions and related projects. On Monday, we will be collecting food for our Passover SOVA drive. Please send your child to school with an item to donate to the SOVA bin for Passover. We will visit the SOVA market as a class to donate these items.
