It may have been a short week for us, but we sure had a busy 3 days. The children welcomed our new teacher Farzaneh to our class. What a warm and loving addition she is. The children are also enjoying the new classroom space and the freedom to choose a seat at snack and lunch. We are learning to put our rest mats and our rest time sleeping bags out by ourselves. These are all incredible teaching moments for each child, for they are learning to take responsibility for themselves. We have continued our discussion on Reduce, Reuse and recycle; using miniature recycling bins we decorated them with items that we would put into the bins at home. The children can now teach you, their family, how to recycle in your homes. Rabbi Josh came and started to tell us the story of Purim. We all learned to say, "BOO!" when the name of Haman is mentioned in the story. All of the children Booed Haman when we read, 'Sammy Spiders First Purim," by Sylvia Rousse. Andrew came right after Rabbi Josh, making Thursday a very busy day. Andrew has promised us that next week we will start singing Purim songs. The children are very excited. This week was a quiet Shabbat celebration. We didn't have a Shabbat Family but, our class is an extension of our families and our day was full of sweetness and Shabbat warmth. Shabbat Shalom and have a wonderful weekend, Room 13 Teachers Reminders: *Conference Sign up sheets will be on line beginning February 27th Half day on March 14 and No school March 15 for Conferences *Next week Shabbat boy will be Samuel Van Vlack *Purim Carnival, March 12th (Rain or Shine)
