Dear Room 13 Families,
Wow! What a great, jam packed week. We began our week being so grateful that we could all be back to school together, safe and sound. We had a beautiful class Havdalah service and then were ready to start the Hanukkah excitement! Throughout our week, we read Hanukkah stories, sang Hanukkah songs and made Hanukkah art work. On Monday, the children had a fabulous time creating their very own Hanukkah snow globes! We want to give a big thank you to Jordana and Sammy for creating this wonderful Hanukkah project for us! All year, we have discussed what it means to be a builder; a builder of peace, a builder of community, a builder of friendship. For Hanukkah, we focused on what it means to be a builder of light! We talked about we can make the light grow on the Hanukiah and how we can make the light grow within our world. With this in mind, the children created their very own Hanukiah using building materials. They worked so hard, creating their own masterpieces. All the children were so excited to finally be able to take theirs home! On Wednesday, we had the wonderful opportunity to host Room 9. The Pre-K class joined our classroom for the telling of the Hanukkah story. The children helped to tell the story, as they have now heard it a number of times. We also had a great time singing Hanukkah songs with our new friends. On Thursday we had the pleasure of celebrating with so many of you during our class Hanukkah party. We greatly enjoyed singing, dancing, lighting the candles and of course, eating. Thank you all so much for bringing in food and decorations that helped to make our party so special and delicious! We then ended our week by making delicious sufganiyot, jelly donuts, with the children and with a beautiful school wide Shabbat. We want to wish you all a very Happy Hanukkah and we look forward to seeing you all in January. Shabbat Shalom, Hannah and Chen Reminders: *Please remember to sign your child in and out, with a legible signature, EVERY day. If you have a high-lighted section, it means we need your signature or time in that space, as well as your normal spot for the day. *December 18th – January 1st – School Closed, Winter Break *January 2nd – School Resumes
