Dear Room 13 Families,
Wow! This week might have been a short week, but it sure was a fun, exciting, busy week! On Wednesday and Thursday, we continued all of our Purim celebrations, art work and discussions. We told the story of the holiday, however this time, the children dressed up and acted it out for on another. They laughed as the silly King (played by Whitman) enjoyed his parties and booed at the evil Haman (played by Sammy). We again discussed what it means to stand up for yourself and others and the importance of doing so. As we continued to create and decorate our masks, we also continued the conversation of what it means to wear a mask, how others see us and how we feel inside. The children had the opportunity to create another type of grogger, the Purim noise maker. This one the children painted and will soon be filling with beads to help make noise, as to not hear the evil Haman’s name. During our circle times, we are also joyfully learning new Purim songs and singing them loudly for all to hear. On Thursday, Rabbi Josh shared the Purim story using character puppets and taught us a new song about how happy the month of Adar (the month of Purim) should be for all of us. We also had the joy of playing a new instrument with Andrew, our Music teacher. We ended our week with a delicious Beit Issie Farmer’s Market and a beautiful Shabbat with Sienna and her family.
