It has been a scorching week! Despite of the heat, your children are able to enjoy outdoors with a ton of water play available. Pools were filled with water in many different parts of the yard. We have a center where big bottles with pumps are filled with (red, yellow, and blue) colored water. Using clear cups and containers the children are learning that by mixing different primary colors in a cup, new color is created. I.e., blue and yellow makes green; red and yellow makes orange, etc. It is so much fun to watch and listen to them talk about colors with so much enthusiasm. We continued to explore our unit about the holiday of Rosh Hashanah. The children were excited to share the different varieties of apples they brought from home and had an apple tasting. During our discussion, they learned about the similarities and differences in taste, color, appearance and smell of the apples by the conscious use of their senses. The children had a continued back and forth interaction amongst each other about which apple they like the best, and why. We had a very busy week. We baked an apple pie on Wednesday, where our friends helped cut and dice apples. Your children had it for dessert after lunch and it was so delicious that some of them even asked for seconds. Next week will be a short week. Wednesday, September 24, dismissal will be at noon. We wish you all a sweet and healthy new year! Shabbat Shalom! Bam and Lashelle RemindersEarly Childhood Enrichment
