Room 13 has been very busy learning more about the upcoming holiday of Thanksgiving. Your children are learning the story behind the special holiday and how the English settlers (Pilgrims) and the Native Americans shared a feast to give thanks for the bountiful harvest. We have had some discussion about how and what they used to build their homes and how they were able to cook inside these homes.
Most importantly your children are learning to understand more about what it means to be grateful. During circle time everybody had a chance to share what they are thankful for. It was a special moment for us as your children's teachers to share with them. It shows how much thought they put in to come up with something that is heartfelt. I.e., “I am thankful for the toys I get to play and the books I get to read at home." "I am thankful for my mommy when she gets to play Candy Cane with me." Our friends have explored the use of clay. They made some clay pots inspired by the tools used by the Native Americans. Beading was another fun activity that they did this week. Your children have also enjoyed painting using the same clay they used to make clay pots. These are all great activities where your children get to practice their fine motor skills. Please ask them about these activities. Along with all these learning experiences about the holiday of Thanksgiving, room 13 Explorers were busy working on putting together some more complex puzzles. It has been a pleasure watching them work together as a team and the priceless moment that they share once the puzzle is completed. We also want to thank all of you for signing up for the items to bring for the children's "Thanksgiving Friendship Feast” on Tuesday, November 25. We truly appreciate all of your support. Wishing you all a fabulous weekend and Shabbat Shalom! Bam and Lashelle
